Romeo and Juliet were star-crossed lovers who had a tragic death in the play, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Juliet and Romeo get secretly married to each other in the beginning of the play, while Juliet’s father wants her to marry a man named Paris. This leads to many complications, which ultimately resulted in Both Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. The secret marriage of Romeo and Juliet can be perceived as a good decision or a bad decision depending on who’s reading the play. Juliet: Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed. Juliet wants to get married to Romeo so badly, she even tells him a day after they meet, which gives the reader more of an understanding of just how head over heels they are for each other. Romeo and Juliet’s parents, Capulet and Montague, have a high aversion towards each other, and would’ve become wildly offended once they found out that Romeo and Juliet were happily married. Capulet: How now, how now, chop-logic! What is this? 'Proud,' and 'I thank you,' and 'I thank you not;' And yet 'not proud,' mistress minion, you, Thank me no thankings, nor, proud me no prouds, But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next, To go with Paris to Saint Peter's Church, Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither. Out, you green-sickness carrion! out, you baggage! You tallow-face! […] Hang thee, young baggage! disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday, Or never after look me in the face: Speak not, reply not, do not answer me (3.5.3). When Juliet refuses to marry Paris, Capulet has a huge melt-down because his plan all along was for Juliet to marry Paris, and have them have a “Happily ever after” life. Just before Capulet went on this dishonorable rant about how Juliet is just like a piece of property that he needs to just give away to Paris, he calmly told her that she should marry whomever her heart desires, which I this
