Extra Credit Opportunity Grossmont College is hosting the 22nd Annual Griffin Speech and Debate Tournament on November 15th and 16th (Sat & Sun), 2014. The tournament can use student assistants. For each hour you serve at the tournament, you can receive five extra credit points, up to a maximum of fifteen. Here’s how it works.
Orientation
You are required to attend a workshop that will explain what is expected at the tournament.
You cannot show up at the tournament to work unless you have attended a workshop!
You will not get extra credit for attending the workshop, only for working at the tournament.
You do not need to sign up for a workshop--just come to only one of them listed below.
Thursday, Nov. 13: 3:30-4:30 pm Rm 24-269
Thursday, Nov. 13: 5:00-6:00 pm Rm 24-269
Friday, Nov. 14: 1:00-2:00 pm Rm 24-269
The Tournament
Students will sign up during the workshop for tournament hours, so look ahead in your calendars.
The best use of students is to have them available for three hours.
Possible time frames on Saturday and Sunday could be:
7:00 am - 10:00 am
9:30 am - 12:30 pm
12:00 noon - 3:00 pm
2:30 pm - 5:30 pm
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Additional Information
Please do not ask me questions about what you will be doing, or whether you can work only two hours, or anything else about the tournament. I don’t have the answers and that is what the orientation workshops are for!
