Rocky Balboa speech As a child I have always wondered what it would be like live the life of my favorite character from a movie for a day, and for me, this person is Rocky Balboa. Rocky is a boxer who resides in Philadelphia. The movie opens up with Rocky fighting in an amateur fight against Spider Rico, Rocky eventually knocks him out after being enraged when he was head-butted by his opponent. When Apollo creed, the heavy-weight champion of the world wants to give an up and coming boxer a shot at the title he chooses Rocky after the original chosen fighter breaks his hand and cannot compete.
One reason I would want to be Rocky Balboa is that he is a character that people can relate to. Believing in yourself and fighting for what you believe in is something everyone can do. He goes from being a local fighter who barely could make ends meet, to getting the opportunity to face-off with the heavyweight champion of the world. When Rocky agrees to fight Creed he becomes a local hero and is rooted on by his town. His goal in the fight is to go the distance with Apollo which no man has ever done before. But with only five weeks to train for the bout, Rocky digs deep and gains the strength, and heart to give his opponent a run for his money. Also I would like to be Rocky Balboa because of his work ethic. When rocky hears he is fighting the world heavyweight champion he teams up with his trainer Mick and his brother in law Paulie and trains around the clock. He starts at 4 am when he drinks 5 raw eggs, next he goes for a run around the town starting at his house and ending with him climbing the steps of the museum of art. Then he goes to the gym and either spars does conditioning or works on technique. He continues this cycle until his fight comes around. Eventually Mick ties Rocky’s dominant left hand to his body and only lets him use his right hand, this gets Rocky’s right hook almost as good as his left.
Another reason I would like to be Rocky is that he was one of the greatest underdogs in movie history and showed the world what he was made of. Rocky begins his journey as a nobody but is given
