As we move into the twenty-first century we all know that healthcare is shifting. A vast majority of technology has taken over and a new healthcare reform is being put into place. Kaiser Permanente strives to keep up with the innovation and changes this world is bringing. There is an extreme amount of new realities, diversity, technologies, best practice, teamwork, and education Kaiser implements into every aspect of each individual job. The past couple of years Kaiser has experienced a disappointing set back with competition, patient growth, and an increase in operations. Kaiser has teamed together to develop changes within the company and that is when a “new reality” came into place. The call to the new reality requires action from all involved, which include administration, staff, and physicians.
The new reality was introduced to all employees the beginning of 2012. All departments were forced with developing new strategies to help with cut backs.

The next couple of years are going to be challenging because the marketplace for what we do is changing and the regulatory world we function in is changing.
