It was a warm sunny day as we drove down the motorway with the stereo blaring out. As we passed a sign for Manchester I felt a pang of embarrassment in my stomach, it had been three years since it happened and yet I still cringed when I thought of it. It had been so humiliating.
It all started in March 2008 when for some reason, I decided I wanted to be a famous singer. I signed up for Britain’s got talent and before I knew it I had got through the first auditions and I was going to see the judges. After practising on the coach for the 5th time I was beginning to think that it was in the bag and I was sure to get through, after all they had already put me through one set of auditions so they must like me. I kept saying that to myself as me and my friend jess got off the coach and began to walk towards the arena.
As we got closer I felt the butterflies in my stomach arrive and took a deep breath, “are you alright” said jess. I think she noticed that I was beginning to feel a bit nervous; I nodded in reply and gave her a huge grin to show I was still up for the audition. We then joined the back of the huge queue, signed in and went to the waiting area.
Two hours later it was time. I had met ant and dec and now it was time to walk on stage. The atmosphere from the crowd was amazing and I couldn’t help feeling confident as they started cheering.
