In the early 1800s it was allowed for a man to beat his wife. Women today are as equal as men in almost every way in the USA. Women are able to speak out for their rights and express their opinions and views about anything they wish. It is now illegal for men to beat their wives and rape them. Women are thriving in the American society just as men are. Their are many books and movies that reminisce on the time that women didn’t have any voice in their fates.
“The Yellow Wallpaper” is a historical fiction told from a woman’s perspective. In the book the husband moved his wife to a different town and she sat in a room all day that had yellow wallpaper everywhere and basically got crazier and crazier
The Protagonist in the story is a bit coo-coo and she is a little crazy and gets crazier each day that she is in the room. She is getting crazier as the days go on because she is not doing anything productive and it makes her physco.. She was definitely a victim in her time because of her disorder that she had and no one really had any idea what was wrong with her.
Women have always been under appreciated and had to deal with some sorts of abuse throughout time. The woman was mistreated by her husband cause he was never really there for her in her emotional needs and to support her.she was given no right in her healthcare and she wasn’t given any options in how she wanted to get treatment. she was basically a puppet where the puppet master was her husband. john was not
