Is technology taking over our lives?
“Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.” favorite quote by Gertrude Stein. Like many things, there are some negative and positive advantages of technology. There is no limit to what technology meaning; internet, scientific, cars, phones, etc and it does so much useful stuff. However, we rely too much on technology to the point it is more difficult just too simply live in this world without it. Psychologists say there's nothing wrong with the use of technology, but they were never meant to replace real life. Although technology has benefit as in many ways and makes our daily lives easier, it effects our social life in many ways. It effects our ability to interactive with each other, increasing cyberbullying, cause depression, and crate addiction.
With all the technology we have now a days, almost everything revolves around it. The fact is that family life has changed in the last generation quite apart from the rise of technology. Technology is destroying the meaningfulness of interactions we have with others and disconnecting us from our families and everyone around us. Technology had become big part of our daily life. Not only does it affect our daily life, it also affect how we interactive with others. Instead of spending time in person we spend it texting and surfing the internet. Tim Lott who wrote “Technology is taking over my family”, talks about how there's too much technology at home and it’s causing his family to spent less time together. His family spend less time interacting even when they are under the same roof. His family can’t simply watch TV or do any family activist together. He also talks about how rare it is to fine anyone at his house without earphone stuffed in their ears or phone in their hand. He goes on by saying “technology is eating my family”. His wife spend more time tweeting than watching TV. His older daughter would text him from her room just to ask for a cup of tea. “I would like to claim that I was the virtuous exception to this virtualization of family
