How we look at the world around us is our worldview. Our thinking governs how we act and the choices we make, consciously or subconsciously. Culture is shaped by distorted ideas that yield distorted lies. Where as a Christian worldview gives us a guide about Gods truth and how we should live. Worldview is a lens by which we see things that we’re consciously aware of. There are many influences that affect a person’s view about death, life, politics and ideas based on their upbringing, life situations, friends, values, media influences and religious education. Influences can become a filter by which we see life, the universe and the basis that make our judgments about life.

We as Christians see the world through the lens of the Bible which is God’s truth and guide for our lives. Without the Bible how would we know what or who to believe? We place our faith in Jesus Christ and His word and He gives us the road map we need to see life through His vision. The three primary worldviews are Naturalism, Pantheism and Theism. We can recognize how a person believes by asking good questions.

We would identify how they think life begins or mankind came into existence. Christians believe that everything exists because of God. Genesis 1:1 teaches us that God is our creator. He created the heavens and the earth. David tells us in Psalm 139:13-16 that God is our creator.

What does it mean to be a human and why are humans more important than animals, would teach us about their identity. Theism teaches us that God created mankind above the animals in Psalm 8:5. Genesis 2:15 advises that male and female were created “in the image of God,” were given responsibility to rule over the animals, and to take care of them. We learn in these verses that the earth and animals are not to be worshipped, but it is man’s responsibility to value and take great care of God’s creation.

Asking why they exist would help us to determine how they view meaning and purpose. Man’s purpose is to know God according to John 17:3. To know God is to have a personal intimate relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Deuteronomy 11:13 teaches us to love God and serve him with all your heart.

To learn about how others view Ethics or Morality, we would ask how should they live or what is meant by right and wrong. We learn that Ethics is based on the nature and character of God, and right and wrong is based on God’s standard, not what man feels like doing. Genesis 3 tells us that Adam knowingly acted against God by doing what he felt like versus what God asked him to do. When we believe that man is born with a sinful nature and can’t save
