The position of the Chair has been vacant since March of 2007. Previously, a non-independent director held the position. The company continues to have an independent Lead Director, as no Chair has been appointed yet. Mr. Richardson the current Lead Director is also a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee as well as the Compensation, Nomination and Governance Committee. Apple had changed the phones “corporate devices” to “everyday user friendly devices,” which is why it was easy for BlackBerry to ignore the competition since they were focusing on enterprise consumers (Ram, 2012). Eidler explains that BlackBerry’s outdated traditional views were just not enough to stop customers from leaving en masse (Eidler, 2011)…
According to Hickey (2005, pp.23-7), managers who are autocratic were rigid in their management method. From the case study we can see that Master has an autocratic management style. Firstly, when Master works with Engineering department staff, he failed to delegate authority to the stuff, in contrast, he interferes in the department management. Moreover, he never takes into account the staff’s opinion before he makes decisions. For example, he set a tight deadline without talking to the staff involved…

fiction novel of the ‘50s, with the story driven more by the solution of scientific problems and the achievement of scientific discovery than by character or plot. Clement, a science teacher, specialized in this sort of science fiction, which may be why he seems to be one of the more neglected of the Grand Masters from the perspective of modern Science Fiction fans. But Clement’s third novel is a cut above much of the hard Science Fiction of the time, which has a tendency to become dated as science…

Playtex responded by developing a preformed, three-dimensional liner with a rim that functioned as a gasket, making its use easier and more secure. With every good idea comes a competitor. warps the judgment of everyone, executive and nonexecutive, rich and poor — in fact, it can take a special toll on the poor. Yet few people are even aware of it, and researchers are only beginning to understand why it happens and how to counteract it. Decision fatigue helps explain why ordinarily sensible people get angry at colleagues and families, splurge on clothes, buy junk food at the supermarket and can’t resist the dealer’s offer to rustproof their new car. No matter how rational and high-minded…
