1. What are the differences between being a biological parent, an adoptive parent, and a foster parent?
Being a biological parent is that the parents raise their children. An adoptive parent is when a he or she takes on the full responsibility of raising a child. A foster parent legally assumes all parental responsibilities toward the child for a limited period of time.
2. What financial needs are parents obligated to provide and which are optional?
The financial needs that a parent is obligated to take are food, shelter, clothing and health care. The ones that are optional are luxuries like toys, electronics, piano lessons, summer travels, and so forth.

3. What other needs might a child have that a parent is expected to provide? Other needs that a parent might have to provide for a child are, emotional needs such as developing a healthy seft-esteem. Also educational needs such as, ensuring the child gets the required education.
4. What are the qualities of a nurturing parent?
Nurturing parents must 1st be at a good place in their own individual self before they can care and provide support for their child. They must be confident with themselves so they can develop self-esteem in the child. Parents must also see the world through the Childs’ point of view. They must also spend plenty of time with their child as well so that they can learn the personality of their child and get involved in their interests. Parents must also effectively enforce discipline towards their child without using harsh punishments. Finally Nurturing Parents develop an understanding of who their child is and what they are capable of and what they are not capable of.
5. What qualities make a person a good parent? A bad parent?
Some qualities that make a good parent included being a good listener and trying to understand their child’s needs and not putting pressure on them. They have to be firm, but not too much. Good parents have a mixture of qualities between a permissive parent and authoritarian parent. For example they teach their children to have respect for authority, yet they also allow them to express themselves. They take in consideration their child's opinion and feelings.
A bad parent is careless, cold hearted, harsh, and mean; basically they don’t take on the responsibilities of what a parent should do. They allow children to run their own lives. Instead of being a guide to their children they allow them to set the rules, like when it comes to education, bedtime, etc. Some bad parents can be brutal especially when it comes to unnecessary punishments. Overall its hard to describe what a bad parent and a good parent is because parents are human and make mistakes. Gradually they learned and grow from their mistakes as they are raising their child.

6. What are some things that people can do to prepare for parenthood?
Becoming a parent is a huge responsibility that should be discussed between the couple. Sometimes people find themselves in certain situations where they are not ready to have a baby. Some things that people can do to prepare for parenthood would be to just think and reflect on their situation, to think positive and welcome the new family member or members with a big embrace. No one knows what parenthood would be like because it various among each couple or family. Also bringing a baby into a family should be done for the right reasons, not to keep a couple together, or to have people care for them in the future.
