The People

February 7, 2013

From the past to the present, everything has changed in some manner. Things such as trades overseas, religious backgrounds, rules of the people even how we go and get our food. The weapon industry has also changed dramatically. What they used then and what we use now do not even compare. Our industries trade around the world, but now we have planes and other ways to do that. Boats are used occasionally for certain products. There were different founders from all around, finding and claiming all areas. Discovering Hispanola, Christopher Columbus came by ship with his men. While on this voyage, they discovered people on the territory of what he named Hispanola. The men and women were all alike; they had weapons of canes in which they cut during seeding time, with a sharp stick attached to the ends of them. These people never used their weapons for harm. Columbus sent his men to speak with them, and when they tried the people scattered, some even leaving their children behind. Columbus did not know why they were scared, so he went and tried conversation himself. When they came out he gave them a cloth and other various items he had, with nothing in return. When Columbus and his men came, they thought they came from the sky. The people have never seen others nor have seen ships like they came on. They have never seen clothed men, considering they wore leafs as a wardrobe. On this island visited the men were content with one woman, while the chief or king could have up to twenty women. The women worked more than the men on this island. During the discovery of New Spain, these people were told about the lord. They believed and went by this standing. Being told they do not know who gave them life, but who gave them life is the lord of the heaven and earth. The people were told who the worship is not a god. When hearing this they were lost, they never heard talk of such being. They thought it was scandalous and were scared hearing this; no such words have ever been spoken that way. All their life they were taught how to honor the god they worshiped. Everyone was told they live through god; the god they worshipped gave them everything they needed for physical existence. As for their god, all would die before giving up the serving to him. All men, women and children of age know the holy prayers in their
