A credential society is one that emphasizes on the containing of credentials such as degrees and diplomas when it comes to the hiring and employment of employees in any sector of field. I believe that the United States in some aspects has the right amount of degree credential requirement; while at the same time it can be over bearing. An example of perfect balance between employment opportunity and the ability to hire would be a specific trade skill. Due to it being a trade and skill, there is one specific teaching that goes into the job performance of an employee. An example of degree being a part of the overbearing credential society would be that of a general job description. IN this aspect, there are times when the amount of work put into a college school degree has little or nothing to do with the job at hand. This is where “credential society” goes wrong in the United States. I believe that at some point in time we all feel victimized due to lacking the skills employers seek, weather it be a school degree or prior training and experience; hence, how is it possible to get that prior experience if no one will hire you?
