There are many weaknesses in the Articles of confederation but there are three that really stand out to me.The first weakness is that the national government couldn’t collect taxes. The 2nd is that All 13 states had to approve any amendments of the articles.3rd and final weakness is that any laws needed approval of 9 of the 13 states. These weaknesses of the Articles are the most weak to me and could have ended the U.S early. The First weakness that is most damaging to the country is that the national government couldn't collect taxes.By the national government not being able to collect taxes means that economy would drop drasticlly. With the bad econonmy the country would fall into a deep depression. The only way the government would get money is by the states being nice and dotating money, kinda of like church. When you go to church you dont have to pay to go but they ask for donations.Thats how the government was. They would give you service and only ask for donations. You cant run an government like that. The 2nd weakness that damaged the country is that all 13 states had to approve any amendments of the articles. This made it extremely difficult for amendments to pass. For example Mr.B treats 12 of his favorite students to a mexican restaurant because they all got A’s.Mr.B who’s going to go get the food from the restaurant says due to him being higher in age he won't remember everybodies order and that we all must agree on the same burrito to eat.Gina says “I want an California burrito”.All the students agree, except for Mr.B who goes on about how putting french fries in a burrito is an abomination to mankind and tells everyone that we must agree on something else. You see how frustrating that is, that everybody must agree on one thing even though most of the people wanted California burritos.Thats how it was like if everybody can't have than nobody can have it. The 3rd and final thing that damaged the country is that any laws needed approval of 9 of the 13 states. In today government a law is made by majority rule.Mojority rule is about more than half of the people have to agree
