Part 1
Marie C. was the woman who discovered radium, an element that was until then, thought to be an unusable piece of rubbish. Then there was Michael Faraday, he discovered electromagnetic force and is best known for his invention: the electric motor. Michael was a poor boy from London who became a bookbinders apprentice; he read a lot of books and later went up “the ladder,” so to speak. Marie on the other hand, was born in Poland and later followed her sister to Paris to study as a scientist, she met her husband there and together they discovered radium. They both overcame poverty and clawed their way to the top, but while Marie studied hard and worked with a partner, Michael worked and just got a lucky break.
Part 2
Both chura and Scarface are characters that are ugly on the outside, but nice on the inside. Chura is just plain butt-ugly, but has a heart of gold, Scarface was wounded in the face by a bear and is ugly because of it, but he too has a heart of gold. Although they are both hideous, they are also beautiful on the inside, and that’s what counts. A reader can learn to not judge a book by its cover by reading these stories.
Part 3
Irony is when something that you least expected to happen, happens. In both the Inchcape rock and the necklace, something the person does to harm or make others envious ends up backfiring at them ending and ruining their lives. In the Inchcape rock, the evil captain ends up removing the Inchcape bell to harm others but ends up sinking his own ship this is ironic because removing it was meant to harm others but it ends up killing him; while in the necklace, Madame Ends up losing a supposedly valuable necklace that she borrowed to make other women jealous. In turn she works for years to replace it and when she returns to her friend to replace it with a real one her friend reveals that
