Sir Isaac Newton was one of the greatest scientists and mathematicians that ever lived. He was born in England on December 25, 1643. He was born the same year that Galileo died. He lived for 85 years. In basketball many of his laws can be seen such as in the first law, which states that an object in motion stays in motion. Basketball can be seen in his 2nd and 3rd laws as well.
In the first law of motion, (which can be seen in basketball), there is a natural tendency of objects to keep on doing what they're doing. All objects resist changes in their state of motion. In the absence of an unbalanced force, an object in motion will maintain this state of motion. It is often called the law of inertia. For example if you should happen to shoot a basketball it would probably keep going onward until it hits the opposite force, which in this case is the backboard.
In the second law of motion, acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object). Therefore in Basketball when you throw a basketball filled with lead instead of air, it will be nearly incredibly harder to shoot into the hoop. Everyone knows that heavier objects require more force to move the same distance as lighter objects. The second law just demonstrates the force needed to shoot a basketball.
In the third law of motion, there is an equal and opposite re-action for every action. This means that for every force there is a reaction force that is equal in size, but opposite in direction. That is
