19 March 2013 Video Games Are Not to Blame Fantasy and reality. Instead of people taking responsibility for their actions, video games are taking the blame.

Video games have evolved over the past sixty years and have became a very popular form of media entertainment. It is first important to understand the definition of what a video game is. The Oxford English Dictionary states that a video gams is, "a game played by electronically manipulating images produced by a computer program on a monitor or other display." There were several attempts of video games starting in the 1940s, but none were successful or considered actual video games. The first video game was invented in 1958 by an American physicist , William Higinbothan. This first video game was a computer game known as Tennis for Two. This game involved a side view of a tennis court with a net in the middle and a bright moving point (the tennis ball). Tennis for Two was played on very small screen of a cathode ray tube oscilloscope and had controllers to use as a "tennis racket". The invention of Tennis for Two is considered an important milestone in the history of the billion dollar computer and video game industry. Since the first invention, video games have evolved beyond what people could have ever imagined. Not only have there been creations of video games, but also in the video game consoles.
