Should healthcare workers be mandated to take vaccinations regardless of potential side effects? This is a question all health care workers should ask their self’s being in the medical field. I will write a claim, counter claim explaining why.
According to cdc.gov “Healthcare workers are at risk for exposure to serious, and sometimes deadly diseases. And if you directly work with patients and or handle material that could spread infection, you should get appropriate vaccines to reduce the chance that you will get or spread vaccine-preventable diseases.” And I agree with that because a lot diseases are going out around and we want to prevent getting or spreading diseases, we want to protect our patients and most importantly ourselves. And according to Medscape.com “for the first time New York State has made a decision to make it mandatory.” They also stated that “anyone who has clinical contact with patients, even food handlers and people who transport patients, are required to get this shot or wear a mask.” Medical workers who refused to take the flu shot vaccination lost their jobs, got sent home with 2 weeks no pay, and or lost respect from other co-workers.
Now medical workers who choose not to get the vaccinations should just wear a mask. According to hopkinsmedicine.org some side effect getting the flu shot could be soreness, redness or swelling where the shot is given, low-grade fever and aches, runny nose, sore throat, and headache. Isn’t the flu shot vaccination prevent you from getting the flu? These
