The book I will be discussing is 17776 by David McCullough. This book takes place during one of the greatest times in America. During this time is the actual birth of the United states. The author that wrote this great book is David McCullough. He is called the "citizen chronicler" by Librarian of Congress James Billington. He was born July 7, 1933 by Ruth and Christian Hax McCullough. He also is a American author, narrator, historian, and lecturer. He is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian award. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, McCullough earned a degree in English literature from Yale University. The book "1776" historian McCullough again uses his talent for narrating history the way no one else can. This book takes us back to the time when Washington, Adams, Greene, Hamilton, and the rest of the founding men were flesh and blood, not historical figures.
