There are many ways in which people communicate with each other. The strategic decisions that businesses make can affect the communication strategies, however it is vital that whoever has the responsibility of making the decisions, must make sure that they inform everyone in the work force, otherwise it could have a massive impact on a great amount of people.
Firstly a way Ashton on Mersey would try communicating with people about important decisions would be to talk face to face. Face to face communication is the most common way of communication, People build the best relationships with client’s and partners in work when they meet with them in person and talk face to face meet in person; it’s the same in the medical sales industry too. Face to face interaction with consultants, nurses and GPs is very important to your success in the job. A few examples of the advantages for face to face communication are, the effectiveness of meetings, as a lot of things get done much quicker. When there’s an issue that requires a decision, you’re able to reach an agreement more quickly. One simple 5 minute conversation could eliminate 15 back and forth emails. When there are many people in a meeting, there’s more energy and opportunities to participate and creatively contribute. Oftentimes there’s also an interaction that’s achieved which ignites discussion and innovative thinking. You can brainstorm more easily and solve a handful of problems. Everyone has their own unique set of skill sets, and some people are much more fluid and clear with verbal communication. Lastly some more advantages of communicating face to face would be that the responses are almost instant, as when people communicate each other in person, they can get a response immediately without misunderstanding what is being asked or said. During the conversation, people can not only hear a response from others, also during the speaking time the people can see how they are feeling; people can guess what will take place next, what the conversation is about, which is very important to have a successful talk. Express of feelings: Using face-to-face communication helps people express their feelings, ideas much better. Instead of using words only when people choose letters, emails or phone for communication, people can use eye contact, verbal language in order to show their opinions.
Ashton on Mersey use face to face communication every single day. The teachers sue face to face communication to help each other get their lessons organized properly, also teachers use this form of communication rather than emailing each other important information such as when meetings are, as it is quicker and more effective as they can remember it more. Pupils can use this kind of communication in Ashton in lessons when they have to partner up and discuss their lessons and their work to get it complete to a high standard.
The disadvantages of face to face communication are that, face-to-face communication is extremely difficult to practice in large-sized organizations, particularly if their various units or departments are situated at different places. Face to face communication is not effective in large gatherings, as It is very difficult to get a message across to large groups of people all at once. Even though the speaker is addressing them face-to-face, the vital personal touch is missing. Ineffective if the listener is not attentive, as a limitation which the face-to-face communication shares with verbal communication is that its effectiveness is closely linked with the listener’s attentiveness. Since human beings can listen to grasp the message faster than the speed at which they are delivered, they will easily get delivered therefore making communication ineffective.
