Memory optimization (In Memory OLTP)-improves performance and it is integrated into the SQL Server Engine
Windows Azure- allows to run on premises or in VM Wizard to host a database

Allows the server to manage backups to Windows Asure
Encryptions for backups

Better and new design for Cardinality Estimation-corporates assumptions and algorithms
Delayed Durability-transaction log can be controlled at the database lever
Enhancements for Always On Failover Cluster Instances and Always On Availability Groups
An Add Azure Replica Wizard, secondary replicas increased from 4 to 8
Secondary Replicas remain available for read workloads after being disconnected from the Primary
Failover cluster Instances (FCIs) can now use Cluster Shared Volumes (CSVs)
