0-3 months
Babies have developed their reflex’s at this i.e. the rooting reflex so they can find their mothers nipples and feed

3-6 months
At this age babies can lift their head and chest when on their tummy this helps strengthen their upper body

6-9 months
At this age a baby should be starting to try and hold their own cup (Sippy cup) giving them a bit more independence

9-12 months
He\she usually start to crawl around this age making them more mobile

1-2 years
A child will usually start walking in this time frame giving them the ability and confidence to go exploring round the house

2-4 years
A child can feed them self’s with a spoon again making them more independent

4-7 years
Children can skip an jump which can help their balance

7-12 years
Children usually reach puberty by the time they reach 12

12-16 years
Children’s body continue to change as they grow an start to change shape i.e. height weight and muscle act

16-19 years
Their physical features should now be shaped and defined ready to enter the world of adult hood

Babies recognise familiar voices an stop crying

3-6 months
Babies focus on toys an objects and explore with their fingers and mouth

6-9 months
At this time in their life a baby may start to cry when their carer/parent leaves the room but later on around eight or nine months will realise that people and objects continue to exist when their out of sight
9-12 months
At this age babies start to copy the actions of others like clapping your hands and can recognise their name when called

1-2 years
At this stage they can recognise routines and may get excited when they get a bib put on for feeding time

2-4 years
At this age children may start to know their likes and dislikes and play with the toys they like over and over

4-7 years
At this age they get more confident, they start school and begin learning to read and write

7-12 years
By this time children are well coordinated and are more organised and focused it can be reflected in their play as they share and use toys or tools properly

12-16 years
At this time in their life’s children have learned how to solve problems and have more understanding

16-19 years
At this stage children may have a higher level of skills and can start making decisions on life an embrace new opportunities and people

0-3 months
Babies at this age communicate by crying when they are hungry , lonely or distressed

3-6 months
Babies at this stage respond to a smiling face by smiling back and/or cooing

6-9 months
A child in this age group may communicate by raising their arms to show their carer/parent they want to be lifted

9-12 months
At this age they may start to wave good bye when you’re leaving the room

1-2 years
A child may indicate he/she wants something by pointing to it

2-4 years
Children start communicating with words at this stage they may start off with two and may even learn as many as 1000 words before their four they enjoy talking and tend to ask a lot of questions

4-7 years
In this time frame a child can string together full sentences an tell storey’s about their day

7-12 years
At this stage children should be able to understand words that have more than one meaning and their speech should be more understandable

12-16 years
At this time children should have good reading and writing skills

16-19 years
At this stage in their lives they can communicate by using technology such as phone and computers
