Hi, I am part of the Voting Block for the particular issue of the Tariffs of 1824, 1828(or the tariff of abominations), and 1832 and I am here today to represent the everyday eastern urban laborers and artisans. As an urban laborer and artisan it is my job to create and build things to then sell and trade for a profit, and most of these things involve me building them with my hands using various different materials. Knowing this it is clear why I do not agree with the Tariffs such as the Tariff of 1828 which raised the duties on raw materials and manufactured goods, basically all the stuff that I have to use in order to do my job. I think I speak for all my fellow eastern laborers and artisans when saying that we are outraged by these tariffs and will vote for a man with a solution to this problem.

By promoting these taxes it really means that you support the growth of industrialization due to the inevitable decline of the urban laborer and artisan industry, do you believe that these are the right steps that American should be taking right now?
John C. Calhoun
As an opponent of the Tariff of Abominations, what was the main reason you adopted the Ordinance of Nullification?
Henry Clay
