Crime in Maryland
The topic that I have chosen is crime why because it’s something that is going on everyday as we speak and its messing up our community and for the young people who is coming up in to it. What is crime while here is the definition to it and it is an act that one person inflicts onto another person by doing something that would lead to jail time for a long time or in and out court every time they comment a crime that is illegal. The types of crime are as follows assault, battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, homicide, rape, statutory rape and or another types of sexual assault. Another reason on how crime can be started is by taking something from a store. If the person started hanging around people who is not helping out that can lead to a criminal background for which it will be hard for that person to get a job in the future. Environment obviously plays a huge role but it is only one of many factors. A theory states that is the belief that individuals choose to commit a crime, looking at the opportunities before them, weighing the benefit versus the punishment, and deciding whether to proceed or not. This cost-benefit analysis primarily focuses on the idea that we all have the choice to proceed with our actions. The reason that crime exist is that Poverty, desperation, psychological problems, lack of esteem or conscience, lack of common knowledge. Another reason why we are having high crime rate is the increase of gang’s members who are trying to join the club and fit in. Gang members engage in a higher level of serious and violent crime than their non-gang-involved peers. Research about gangs is often intertwined with research about gun violence and drug crime. It is clear that gangs, guns, drugs and violence are interconnected. When communities assess their gun violence problem, they often uncover a gang violence problem. Communities that recognize the unique challenges associated with reducing gangs and related crime problems, such as gun violence, become safer and healthier, and may be more resilient to future crime threats. Evaluations of gang prevention programs have identified key factors in designing and implementing positive interventions. These factors include Working with the local community, Engaging city leaders, Partnering with social service agencies, Involving community members who have the respect of local gang leaders and members and addressing gang-related issues at multiple levels. What is murder is an act that one person comments on a person by taking that person life for no reason. When a person comments this crime that person can be in jail for like 15 to 20 years or life which is 25 years or they can get the death penalty instead of getting life depending on the crime and how the jury finds the person. Drugs how is it related to crime well the use of illegal drugs is often associated with murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny/theft, serious motor vehicle offenses with dangerous consequences, arson and hate crimes. Holding someone in jail, without access to alcohol and drug addiction treatment, with no specific plans for treatment and recovery support upon discharge, is not only ineffective, it’s expensive and it’s time for a change. For many in the criminal justice system, preventing future crime and re-arrest after discharge is impossible without treatment of addiction. Guns what effects does it have on crime it plays a big role cause criminals is having access to these weapons and it making it more easier for someone to get shot or be a bystander that was hit by the bullets. It is obvious to any fool that reducing the prevalence of guns will reduce the prevalence of death and injury. The effect of police is that the use of empower a person when that person is unarm or who is doing everything you ask him to do.
