Tupac Shakur Altar
(1971- 1996) My altar is made of one of the most iconic figures in the music industry, Tupac Amaru Shakur. I am personally a huge fan of his and he is one of my idols. Tupac was just as good a person as he was a rapper because of the activism and community services he was involved in. I idolize him as a human being just as much as I idolize him as an artist. He was one the few who walked the talk and stood up for what he believed in. Tupac was never afraid to speak his mind, and he was open about many conspiracies and modern day racism that still goes on within the African American community. One of the most fascinating things about him was his ability to view problems in a multitude of perspectives. Like anyone else, Tupac was not a perfect human being. He made a lot of mistakes throughout his life, and he had a hard time staying out of trouble with the law. He largely helped fuel the war between east coast and west coast rappers. With that being said, the legacy he left is much more positive than negative. Tupac’s greatest trait may have been his ability to view an issue from a rational perspective. A huge problem that sill goes on today is crime in ghetto towns that are filled with black people. Tupac has been open about how young black men are being trapped and forced into crime by “White America”, but he also questions the decisions of the blacks.
