When learning about the 1800’s there were many leaders that are famous in history. Whether their actions would good or bad, they gave us a starting point for our government and constitution we now have today. In this essay I will discuss the three separate visions that George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson had for America. Our first president, George Washington, was elected for his honest and trustworthy attitude. He had a few visions that made people of that era both like him and dislike him. Washington favored a non-partisan government and was for having presidents and not kings with a term limit of four years. He also was pro-business and trade and favored a strong federal government which eventually led to the whiskey rebellion. On the other hand Alexander Hamilton’s vision was much different than his former boss, because he enjoyed having all the power. He favored a strong national government and a constitution that was up for interpretation, which obviously didn’t stick. He also wanted to stay close to England for all they had done for America, and wished to pay off the war debt, which in term would be a good idea. One of his final visions was for the creation of a national banking system. Lastly, Thomas Jefferson’s vision was the farthest from the two, really only caring for him. He wanted a pro-farmer/agri-business and was pro-French instead of pro-England like Hamilton.
