The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the truth telling violations presented in the Abraham and Rehab Bible stories. Both stories are indicative of deception that demonstrate how if people are placed in a position of uncertainty can lose their faith in performing a moral obligation which is telling the truth regardless of the situation. Extreme circumstances can hinder the decision making process and can lead to deception. The ideology of truth telling is the mere fact that God teaches us that deception is wrong and as individuals refraining from violating truth telling is God’s will. In the bible, Exodus talks about the ten special rules, which are known as the Ten Abimelech was going based on what was conveyed to him. Abimelech’s character was in question, but he was being honest and sincere and innocent about the entire situation. God spared Abimelech’s life by speaking to him through a dream so that he would not sin against him. God informed the king to restore Abraham back to his wife Sarah because he indeed is a prophet. God told the king that if he did not pray for restoration that he would surely die. Because Abimelech wanted to obey God the father, he rose very early the next morning and called his servants and shared what had transpired and his servants were filled with respect, but also afraid of what was going to happen. Abimelech called Abraham and asked him what have you done to us and why did you. He said you have brought great sin to me and my servants. The king wanted to know from Abraham what did we do for you to justifiably fabricate such a thing that would have caused me to sin against God. Abraham’s justification was fear. He thought he the servants would kill him because of his wife Sarah. Because Abimelech wanted to obey God, he gave Abraham the sheep and oxen and male and female slaves to Abraham and restored him to his wife Sarah. Because Abimelech knew God would be pleased with him, he told Abraham to dwell wherever he wanted to. The king also spoke to Sarah and told her I compensate you and vindicate you for what has happened and therefore you are cleared of any wrong doing on your husband’s
sometimes departed from strict truth in order to overcome obstacles…” The central premise Carr states that “…most bluffing in business might be regarded simply as game strategy much like bluffing in poker, which does not reflect on the bluffer.” In order to become or sustain a business bluffing may take place but the bluff must be justifiable by the business and individual. Bluffing may be considered ethical since there will always be a insist where telling the complete truth creates a uproar or discourage…
How do we address rebuilding societies after human rights violations, while also holding perpetrators accountable? Transitional justice holds perpetrators of human rights violations responsible and attempts to give closure to the victims. The main concern is to rebuild societies after mass atrocity crimes. The three paradigms that explain the distinct ways of approaching transitional justice are retributive, restorative and reparative justice. These three paradigms work together to achieve…
I don't tell truth, I tell what ought to be truth...Don't turn the light on!' This intense, frightening scene reveals to the audience the way Blanche views the world. Tennessee Williams' use of this kind of dual view of the world to develop Blanche's character is a perfect example of the way A Streetcar Named Desire makes the audience react to the characters in the play. The use of light and dark links to the key theme of fantasy and reality. The light is the truth, and this is what Blanche…

is right or wrong to bend the truth of a memoir, however many also think it could go both ways. A memoirist’s commitment should be the truth, but the truth can sometimes be sacrificed for more interesting story telling. All the publishing companies who debate whether or not a memoir should be sent out to the public or not, should acknowledge the fact that an author’s memoir strictly came from their memory and personal experiences, so there might be subjective truth. The author, James Frey, wrote…

They argued that telling her would only worry her, since nothing could be done to improve her condition, and that she was better off not knowing that she was dying. However Mrs Grant kept asking the nurses for her results, but they kept changing the topic and telling her that she will be all right. The senior nurse felt caught between the patient, family and the medical team’s…

responses can be quite biased and opinionated. We all have our own viewpoints, when it comes to issues of life, we have believed these ideas throughout our individual lives they shape and form our opinions and thoughts. We hold these ideas and values as truths and in turn live our lives based of them. Our inability to see things from someone else’s perspective can create turmoil and cause us to operate and function constantly imposing our beliefs on another person and in the case of working in the field…
different from what it was so many hundred years ago when torture was seen as something proper and necessary that was the basis for people telling the truth or risking getting killed or seriously injured in the process. Nowadays there is so much red tape and bureaucracies that individuals have to respect before even thinking of perusing making it near impossible for the truth to reveal itself. But with so much war looming and violent dangers to society its time to reconsider old methods of extracting whats…
