- Process innovation: Before Trung Nguyen made a start-up in coffee processing business, mostly all coffee on home market was processed with a small quantity by handicraft or semiautomatic machinery. Trung Nguyên is the first coffee enterprise in Viet Nam has invested in high technology to process coffee beans by importing machinery. Until now, Trung Nguyen has invested in high-tech processing machinery with capital of over $ USD 60 million. Recently, the additional investment capital of Trung Nguyen for high-tech machinery was up to $USD 80 million (VnEconomy, 2012). As for coffee-processing industry, in general, the investment of Trung Nguyen in high technology can be seen a technology innovation in processing coffee, compared to current handicraft and semiautomatic machinery nationwide. On the other hand, franchising style of Trung Nguyen trade system is also a revolution of distribution process in Viet Nam. Generally speaking, the success of Trung Nguyen from the beginning until now has essentially based in the innovation strategies of the enterprise about product, service and process.
