Fundamentals of Shifting About a year ago, I was transitioning out of the Marine Corps. Didn't have a plan when I got out, since I never thought of discharging from the military. Things were just moving so quickly that I needed an alternative career if college was not right for me. Since I've never used my tuition assistance in my whole 8 years, I figured that I might as well start using it before it became a lost cause. After doing a lot of research, I have decided to go to California Career School for my Class A endorsement. This school had a great reputation with companies hiring veterans. Great opportunities for my family and myself. Everything was going according to plan until I had to face one of my biggest challenges I've ever had. driving manually. As long as I can remember, I had family and friends trying to teach me how to drive manually. With no luck on every attempt I set myself to failure. The situation of just losing control of the vehicle and getting someone injured was just too much for me to bear. This eventually faded away until the day I enrolled into this school. The fear, anxiety, and the anticipation all came back like I've been hit by a semi. I never felt so defeated in my life... and that's when I realized that this issue was not going to ruin my life anymore. I have always welcomed a great challenge and wouldn't make the same mistake twice. Not now, not ever. I was dedicated and wanted to learn as fast as I can because I was running out of time, since I was a few months away from my end of service to complete this course. The next several weeks I have been continuously known the nomenclature and the gauges on the semi truck. Learning from the right tire thread requirement to checking the frame for deformities.
