Directions:
After you have been videotaped, you should watch your tape and evaluate your performance. In addition, you will need to transcribe 2-3 minutes of your speech and type it neatly. “Transcribe” means that you write down everything that you said, exactly as you said it. This includes:
False starts (repetition of words like “I-I would like to talk about…” or cut off words like “In my opin – opinion…”
Hesitation markers (“um” and “uh”) and any pauses (“…..”)
DO NOT correct any grammar mistakes. Please type the transcript double spaced so it is easy to read and comment on. Also answer the following questions about your speech and transcript of it. I will not accept any transcript that is not typed or double-spaced! This is your only warning!

1. Are you unsure of the pronunciation of any words that you spoke? Please underline these words in your transcript.
2. In your opinion, and after listening to your speech, what are some of the pronunciation problems you struggle with?

3. Think about your fluency. Do you pause frequently? Mark any pauses you think are TOO LONG by writing slash marks (//) in that space on your transcript.
4. What types of grammar mistakes did you make in your speech? Do you always make these same grammar mistakes on a daily basis? (think about it!)
