Description and rationaleThe project that will be proposed to the Trafalgar Cricket Club is that the current training facilities receive an upgrade. The current training facilities are in a current state that it could be considered a hazard and are of the state that it impacts on the training performance of the players. The current state of the nets is in that bad of a condition that there are no current permanent synthetic pitches in place. This means that the player must bowl on a concrete surface which impacts on their bodies and could cause them long term injuries which would mean a shorter playing time at the club. Also the wire that supports the structure has worn to the point that it is not effective anymore to stop the balls that are either missed or hit from the batsman. Therefore for the development and the future of the Trafalgar Cricket Club it would be necessary to upgrade the facilities to match the standards other clubs offer so we do not lose the players, and can aid in player progression and development. In order to construct the ‘nets’ as this report will refer to them, to a standard where we are not just repatching, but developing them in to a new ‘training facility’ the cricket club will require the volunteer work of members of the cricket club and members of the local community. The members of the club and the community will have to provide the labour at a discounted rate or even voluntary as the current financial position of the club would not support a project as vast as this with full price labour. All the labour required will be able to be sourced from the cricket club and community members. This resource is manageable and retrievable as the president owns a building / construction business, we have all the types of tradesmen from builders to boil makers, concreters and even landscapers. Also one of the committee members manages the Greg Chappell Cricket Store in Melbourne so the cost of cricket associated expenses can be slightly relieved. The estimated cost for the project will be $8,000 and it will be completed within three weeks. There will be a $2,000 allowance for emergencies and problems that may not be foreseen. The projects stages will consist of the demolition of the current structure around the nets. Then followed by the levelling and preparation of the surface. Next the structure will be erected, and finally the nets will be wired and netted off and the pitch will be laid. This would be an investment from the club and they will have the infrastructure that is needed for player development and retention and will have the facilities that match that of the other clubs that are associated with the Trafalgar Cricket Club. See appendices 13.1 for current state of the cricket nets. | 2. Feasibility studyGenerally a feasibility study defines the viability of the project as well as how long it will take, when it will recoup its cost as well as defining the target in line with the company strategy, (Dossenbach, T., 2000, p.31).Driver4You is a feasible project for the Yellow Cab Taxi company to undertake as there is a publicised shortage of taxis in the Latrobe Valley Region, which has attributed to the increase in drink diving and arrests in public violence. The cricket club is in a desperate need of new training facilities. They are currently battling factors such as player loss to other clubs and lack of player
