I have very strong values about getting work done on time, and I am very picky about making sure it is done correctly and to the best of my ability. I also believe in being honest and not cheating or helping anyone else to cheat.
I was raised by my grandparents, and they taught me to always plan ahead and get things done early so that I know that I have turned them in, and so I wouldn’t have to rush to get things done, so that they would be done correctly. If you get your work done before it’s due, it gives you more time to do other things that might need to be done, or be able to get started on another project.
I didn’t really have a culture effecting my values, as I am sure there are many people in different cultures who do have to deal with how it effects them and the way they do things. The only thing I dealt with being catholic as I am sure it is the same pretty much in all other cultures is being honest, don’t lie to get ahead.
I have had to make a couple ethical decisions throughout my life, one was at work, when I had a supervisor ask me to do her work so she could leave early for a hair appointment. I didn’t think it was fair but since I was just an assistant I did it, so that she couldn’t try and get me in trouble, but then it started becoming a regular thing a couple times a week, so finally when I started getting frustrated, another supervisor asked me what was wrong, and why was it taking me so long to get done
