Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” has changed drastically since it was first created in 1984. In the late 1980’s through the early 1990’s, it gained tremendous worldwide success. A massive amount of ninja turtle fans did not enjoy, or want to see the new 2014 film. Many who haven’t seen the original ninja turtles series tend to have enjoyed the new film. The 2014 “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” is a film that many people have loved and hated because of the characters, the plot, and the effects. First, there are five main characters in this film, whom are Leonardo (Pete Ploszek), Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Donatello (Jeremy Howard), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher), and April O’Neil (Megan Fox). Leonardo is the eldest and most disciplined leader of the turtles and uses a katana. Raphael is the most aggressive and rebellious amongst his three brothers and wields twin sai. Michelangelo is the youngest, fun-loving, and comedic of the brothers and handles the nunchucks. Donatello is the smartest among the turtles and is second-in-command behind Leonardo and holds a bo staff. April O’Neil is a reporter for Channel 6 News in New York and helped the ninja turtles when she was a child. Many ninja turtle fans have criticized the film because of the fact that Megan Fox is playing April O’Neil, who isn’t very committed to her assigned roles according to reviews. Next, the plot of this film is that April O’Neil accidentally encounters a gang in the subway called the Foot Clan who terrorizes the city of New York. She witnesses shadowy figures fight off the Foot Clan and escape to a rooftop where April confronts these shadow figures who turn out to be the Ninja turtles. She realizes that she knew these turtles because she was taking care of them and their rat master/father Splinter as pets in a lab when she was a child. A couple of scientists were performing an experiment on the turtle’s called “Project Renaissance,” which is an experiment to use the turtle’s blood as an antidote as a cure for a toxin that the Foot Clan will use on New York City to take over the city. However, a lab fire occurred and April saved her pets from being burned alive. She accompanies them on their journey to stop the Foot Clan from anymore disturbance in the community, until they get kidnapped by the Shredder, whom is the leader of the Foot Clan. April later saves the turtles from turmoil and end Shredder’s plan of taking over the city of New York. According to ninja turtle fans, the plot wasn’t exceptionally good because the story in this film focused towards “Project Renaissance,” and not enough on the ninja turtle’s themselves. Finally, there was a big technological advance in this film compared to the older films. The effects on this movie
