1. The Question of Origin:
A humanist rejects any existence of god and believed that modern science can answer the question of how life began Origin of the universe and life, the scientific method is most respected as the means for revealing the mysteries of the origins of the universe and life. 2. The Question of Identity:
Humanists believe that mankind is a highly evolved animal and they are always seeking primary truth through experiments. “ Peter Singer and others contend that life is not sacred, these Naturalist believe that abortion, infanticide and euthanasia under certain circumstances should be de-criminalized where current law is in place” (Weider & Gutierrez. 2011,p57).
3. The Question of Meaning/Purpose:
“Man has little, if any real control over his or her existence, and when the machine breaks, life is over” (Weider 7 Gutierrez, 2011,p56). Humanists feel that it is up to them to make the most of their lives in hopes that if they were to have lived a good life by their standards, that through their good deeds, they can live figuratively through their loved ones and the generations yet to come.
4. The Question of Morality:
Humanists believe that the source of ethics, morality and law is not god but man. Man should decide for himself what’s right and wrong, and is given the will to change his mind. Man is in control of his own destiny the humanist believes.
5. The Question of Destiny:
“ Once this machine the body breaks down and dies, death is the final and there is nothing more beyond that. Once the body starts decomposing, all that remains or they suggests live on, is the impact they left on loved ones and through their culture” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011,p64) Humanists believe that this world and this life is all we have and that’s all to it.
