Reflection Paper

My dad used to tell me all the time that we are all a work in progress. At the time I didn’t know exactly know what he meant. As years have passed on and my relationship with Christ matured, I now know what he meant. We as children of God can never be perfect, but what we can do is strive to be like Christ, this is what the definition of a Christian is, “Christ like”. I try to share the good news of Jesus, and when I do I like to talk to people about God’s Grace and through his son Jesus there is no Condemnation.

Biblical Foundation
Jesus justified our right to live by taking on our sins and paying the ultimate sacrifice for us. Because Jesus died for our sins, he justified our right to live through him and have eternal life after death. Romans 5:16 says this: “Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.” Therefore, whenever we sin all we have to do is repent our sins in the name of Jesus and by his grace we are forgiven and we have no condemnation as a result of our sins. Condemnation has been something I have struggled with in my relationship with Jesus.
Practical Application
At a younger age when I would do something wrong, I would beat myself up about it making the situation worse than it really was. I know Jesus was next to me saying “dang it bud I already paid for that sin why are you feeling guilty about it.” As I have matured in my relationship with Christ, I have learned to not beat myself about it, but instead of feeling guilty I just ask for forgiveness and move on.
Taking this class and studying and reading the material is not only improving my knowledge of the bible, but it’s helping my relationship with Jesus grow as well. Every time I study the material I’m reading God’s word. To really know the bible and have a great relationship with Jesus Christ I have to read his word as often as I can. Studying and
