The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet

In life, death can be caused by ones self or people around them. In
William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" , the awful tragedy was caused by their families and themselves. The cause of Romeo and Juliet's death was the parents, but also Romeo and Juliet's actions.

The families of Romeo and Juliet are a big part of why Romeo and Juliet took their lives. The families hated each other and would not have even gave Romeo nor Juliet a chance. "Their parents strife" page 4. Their families were also constantly fighting. " a challenge on my life" page 98 (Tybalt challenges Romeo to a battle) Their anger towards each other had even gotten so bad that they were taking each others lives. "This shall determine that. (they fight. Tybalt falls)" page 139

In addition to their parents being one of the causes of Romeo and Juliet's death, Romeo, himself, is also to blame. Romeo did not tell his family about the marriage, maybe if they would have known they would have tried to make peace with the Capulets. 'Is your man secret? Did you ne'er hear say, two may keep counsel, putting one away?" page 111 Another reason of why Romeo is to blame of his own death and his wifes is if he would not have killed Tybalt he would not have been banished. "Romeo, away, begone! The citizens are up, and Tybalt slain. Stand not amazed. The prince will doom thee death" page 139 Romeo also made the mistake of jumping to the conclusion that Juliet was dead when he found her. "For here lies Juliet, and her beauty makes This vault a feasting presence fulll of light. Death, lie thou there, by a dead man interred." page 250

As well as Romeo being the cause of why he and Juliet died, Juliet is also to blame. Juliet also lied about her and Romeo's marriage, if she told her parents, they might have been able to come up with some compromise with the Montague's, then
