The Population of Woman

The changes in the roles of woman have changed drastically the past few years. Effecting nearly all institutions in society from their families to the workplace, even in politics. Woman are certainly not who they use to be. They have moved out of the home and into the workforce. In 1920 millions of American woman exercised their right to vote for the first time. It took 100 years for activist to achieve this right for woman, clearly the campaign was not easy. The 19th Amendment was ratified on August 26, 1920, declaring for the first time that woman deserve all the rights and responsibilities of men ("The fight for," 2012). Although through the many years woman have strived to develop equality to men; woman still make seventy seven cents on the dollar compared to men in the work force. This is very unfortunate, but woman will likely continue to struggle to maintain equality for many year. Everyone believes different things, but overall only 28 percent of women feel that a working mother cannot have as warm and secure a relationship with her children as a mother who does not work. Among men, a larger 39 percent have doubts about working mothers. Also, Fully 68 percent of women say they pray at least once a day compared with only 48 percent of men (American woman: Who, 2008). Women are naturally caring and companionate. Sometimes the role of woman in the family is confused by how they are suppose to act, and how they actually do act.
