A rebel can be anyone who is willing to stand up and fight for a purpose such as Katniss from the Hunger Games or Thomas from the Maze Runner. However, one rebel in particular stands up against racial inequality in the hope for the public’s attention that segregation is deemed unconstitutional. Rosa Parks struggles with the everyday life of an African American in the south of the city of Montgomery, Alabama, but overcomes those daily struggles instead of succumbing to the laws of society. Rosa Parks, being a civil rights activist, fights for racial equality with purpose in hopes of desegregation of public transportation. The event that Rosa Parks makes her decision is vital to the Civil Rights Movement, but the events that lead up to that very However, she pushes for her high school diploma in 1934 after marrying Raymond Parks in 1932. “Raymond, now deceased was born in Wedowee, Alabama, Randolph County, February 12, 1903, received little formal education due to racial segregation” (BIOGRAPHY | Rosa Parks). Raymond encourages her to go for her diploma, and finishing her high school education. After graduating, she joins the National Association for Advancement of Colored People otherwise as the NAACP as her husband is also apart of the organization. She became the secretary working closely with the president Edgar Daniel Nixon. She joins the NAACP to fight alongside with her husband to fight for racial injustice as segregation denies the rights of African the Board of Education stated separate but equal is unconstitutional. Fred Gray, Rosa’s attorney, filed a suit stating segregation on public transportation to the U.S. District Court in Montgomery, Alabama. Soon enough the south would desegregate very slowly moving the Civil Rights Movement in the next phase. Nixon spends years searching for someone with the courage and integrity to become the plaintiff of segregation laws, and that person is Rosa Parks. “She also became known as the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.”” (Badertscher).
