If the DNA in a cell contains the information to the entire organism, but uses only that portion of the information that is required for its life's purpose and and we know that only a small percentage of the brain is used by humans would it be possible that each human being also contains all the information of the entire organism of which it is a part. This is a question I've pondered over for at least a day and a half well we do you know that quantum physics tells us that at any point in time all possibilities exist and once you focus on one the rest drops out of existence. if we could tap into information housed by the brain as DNA does the cell possibilities would be endless but first we must understand what DNA is and does. the ancient scripture of our genetic code that's written in a language that all life can read. DNA is a molecule shaped are like a long twisted ladder or a double helix. The Rolls of the latter are made out of four different kinds of smaller molecules these are the letters of the genetic alphabet the particular arrangement of the letters spell out the instructions for all living things telling them how to grow, move, digest, sense the environment heal and reproduce the DNA double helix is a molecular machine made of hundred billion parts called atoms there is many atoms in a single molecule of DNA as there are stars in the galaxy. when a living cell divides into two each one takes a complete copy of the DNA. There are about 37 trillion cell in an adult human body. now with the information that you now know about DNA and cell how can this information related to the brain and the body? much like DNA the brain has stored information about the body some we know and some is still a mystery. so how deep do we want to go here are we talking about remembering something that we put away last week and just can't for the life of us remember or are we talking about the subconscious level of cognitive thinking either way we're still using way more than a small percentage of our brain most of the time that 10 percent that you heard about that's just a myth.. so you need more proof ok just for fun let's say hypothetically that you want to find your keys and just don't remember where you put them well there's this thing called RAS. the reticular activating system it's actually in the brain stem. RAS is this set of nuclei in the brain of vertebrates it is responsible for regulating arousal and sleep wake transition RAS also consists of evolutionary areas of the brain which are crucial to survival and protection during adverse periods. As as a result, the rest you don't function during an inhibitory of hypnosis. RAS role is like a gatekeeper it screens out most of the information of incoming data from
the information in our DNA/genes used by our bodies? DNA is the genetic code for your body. DNA tells what color your hair is going to be or what skin pigment you will have-- how much melanin your skin will produce. It even tells what kind of nose you will have and what your lips will be like. It makes you who you are. Chromosomes, strands of DNA packed together, also tell if you will be Autistic or have some genetic disease. Some diseases are caused by the mutation of DNA, but not all. What happens…
breaks down food to make energy. | |Nucleus |This is the brains of the cell. The nucleus tells the brain what to do and | | |contains chromosomes that are made of DNA. | |Endoplasmic reticulum |This transports all things like protein around the…
source brain tumors or cancer have been on widespread mind. very quickly similar to televisions, computers and whichever further electrical device, cell phones use radiofrequency energy emits electromagnetic radiation. This energy called ionizing is wrapped up by tissue and breaks the molecules apart, such as x-rays and can cause cancer. Because the cell phone is held close up to a person’s head, this causes fear. but, cell phones use non-ionizing radiation ("Cell Phones, Cancers and Brain Tumors…
almost exclusively affects females and is characterized by a person developing abnormally early then being slow in development, as they grow older. Certain signs showed by a child with Rett syndrome are loss of purposeful use of their hands, slowed brain and head growth, problems with walking, seizures, and the child will show intellectual disabilities. Other physical symptoms of Rett syndrome are loss of speech, balance and problems coordination. In many cases the ability to walk is lost. Many symptoms…
Retina: layer that changes light into nerve impulses. Rods: white black or gray light. Cones: color. Bright lights. Fovea Centralis: where the sharpest image is obtained. CENTRAL VISION. Optic Nerve: receives impulses from retina and sends it to brain. Optic disc: does not have any rods or cones. BLIND SPOT. Aqueous humor: fluid between the pupils and cornea. Vitreous humor: maintains eye shape; inside the eye ball. Astigmatism: light rays don’t meet a focal point Monochromatism: color blindness…
diploid cells] CH 12 DNA: [Frederick Griffith] injected mice with bacteria. [transformation: process in which one strain of bacteria is changed by a gene from another strain of bacteria]. Avery and other scientists discovered that the nucleic acid DNA stores and transmit’s the genetic information from one generation of an organism to the next. [bacteriophage: a kind of virus that infects bacteria] Hershey and chase concluded that the genetic material of the bacteriophage was DNA, not protein. [NUCLEOTIDE:…
around each organelle inside the cell membrane. Protects and provides support to each organelle. It keeps the organelles supported so it is quite important. Nucleus Quite large Circular Plant/Animal Usually surrounded by ER Contains materials such as DNA and controls cell activities Very important because it controls the cell Nucleolus Average Circular Plant/Animal Inside the Nucleus Produces Ribosomes Not so important Ribosomes Very small Little dots Plant/Animal They settle on the ER which creates…
Structure of Mitochondria Glycolysis & Kreb’s cycle ATP molecule, Electron transport Chain & Chemiosmosis. Ch 10 : Cell growth & division What limits the cell size? The larger a cell becomes, the more demands the cell places on its DNA and the more trouble the cell has to move enough nutrients and waste across the cell membrane Mitosis – different stages Prophase: Chromosomes become visible. Centrioles move to opposite ends of the chromosomes near the nuclear envelope and start making…
be collected from, “umbilical cord, amniotic fluid, bone marrow, adipose tissue, brain and teeth” (Herrera 299). In the 1990’s scientists found stem cells in the brain, they agreed upon that those stem cells differentiate into three different major types of cells in a mature brain (Brandon 2815). This research allows scientists to find ways to use stem cells to help the general public. Diseases that affect the brain such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s can be cured or even eliminated. Stem cell research…
