The Inspiration of Will Smith

“The first step before anyone in the world believes it is you have to believe it. There’s no reason to have a plan B because it distracts from plan A” (Will Smith). When you have a dream there will be people who will tear you down and other people who won’t simply believe you can pull it off. But if you believe then you will achieve. Will Smith let young teens and adults know that they can be or do anything they want in life. Will smith is significant and influential because he is a role model, African American actor, father figure, and last but not least a hard worker.

Many young people see Will Smith as a huge role model towards young children. But more recently he has become a pretty inspirational person. Will Smith is a good role model for young African American teens all over the United States. Everything Will Smith does is positive because like he doesn’t like negativity. Will Smith tells young children that whatever dream they have, they should go and chase it. He is the type of person that will help you get back up, when you fall.

Will Smith stays out of trouble, which young children need to learn. Will Smith was born in Philadelphia and grew up there as well. Even to this day Will Smith remembers where he came from, and gives back to his community. And on top of that he was successful in the music industry. While he did the right things like no drugs, gangs, he never promoted violence. He founded the Will Smith Foundation (charity). Will Smith doesn’t use invectives in his songs even if its hip-hop. “He said in his interviews that he intended not to have bad words in his music despite the genre (hip-hop) pretty much filled with obscenity” (biography.com).

Will Smith is an influential African American actor because you don’t find that much of good African American actors. In most people opinions Will Smith is a versatile actor. Will Smith is among one of the few best African American actor in Hollywood. And that shows young African American that wish to do acting or any type of performing arts, to always give more and never less. “Will Smith is the only actor in history to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the domestic box office as well as being the only actor to have eight consecutive films open at #1 on the domestic box office as a Lead Actor”(Imdb.com)

Will Smith isn’t just an actor but a rapper, producer and a director. He has enjoyed success in television, film and music. In the late 1980s, Smith achieved modest fame as a rapper under the name “The Fresh Prince.” Will Smith has a great passion for rapping which started his career. “In 1990, his popularity increased dramatically when he starred in the popular television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” (IMDB.com). “It's a whole different thing being an actor. A rapper is about being completely true to yourself. Being an actor is about changing who you are. You make yourself a different person. You become a different person” (Will Smith).
