The Great Brawl in Verona
Prince Escalus issues death threats today on the streets of Verona. In a brawl between the Montagues and the Capulets, two servants on both sides got into a violent fight on the street also involving Benvolio (a Montague) and Tybalt (a Capulet). Finally the two lords (Capulet and Montague) attempted to step in to stop the scuffle but were unable to and, if anything, made the problem worse. The Prince finally arrived at the scene only to find complete chaos. In fury he immediately stepped in and gave each of the Lords harsh warnings with a threat of punishment by death. The Capulet house was ordered at once to come with the Prince, while the Montagues were to report at a later time.
The Montagues and Capulets have for an undescribed reason, disliked each other for hundreds of year. Many citizens believe it is crazy. The two families are singlehandedly making the streets of Verona unsafe. If the violence and fighting continue, the Prince will have to step in and take charge. There is absolutely no reason for the brawls that have occurred three times already. Well the Prince will have nothing of it, and issued harsh warnings to the two families stating if it is to happen again, there will be no mercy, no sympathy, just death to

both lords.

Citizens have expressed concern at the security of the punishment, but they acknowledge it is what’s best and what need s to happen to make the streets safe to walk on once again.
“The Montagues and Capulets really need to watch at what they do towards each other, because otherwise another fight could be the last thing they do ever,” said an observer. On Sunday, a Capulet servant bit his thumb (a very offensive thing to do) at a
Montague in hopes that t he Montague would think nothing of it and act like it never happened. However, the
Montague immediately noti ced the offensive gesture and thought it was aimed at him. The
Montague servants then confronted the Capulet servants in complete rage. They started to argue with each other, which soon led to the Capulets pretty much egging on a fight with the
Montague s. They continued to argue which ended up leading into a fight between the servants. Finally Capulet Tybalt and Montague Benvolio arrive. But instead of cooling things, they only heated things up with yet another fight. They continue to fight with their clubs and spears as the citizens of Verona cheered and chanted at the scene of the fight. But it turned out the fun had
