The fall in the Death Rate in the UK since 1900

The death rate is the number of deaths per thousand of the population per year. Between in the 1900s’ the death rate rose slightly because of the war and economic depression, many people live a longer live in this century because of all the technology and medicine that is out now.
One reason for the fall in the death rate is that we have better nutrition, this enables us to fight infections and viruses as we have medicines to help us, also we have more sanitary conditions such as cleaner water and housing, better nutrition helps build our immune system making it stronger. The death rate is more common to the proletariat society as they may not be able to afford costs of medicine and health services, whereas wealthier people could afford all these cures. Thomas Mckeown argued that improved nutrition accounted for up to half the reduction in death rates, and was important in reducing the number of deaths from TB, so this presented those with better nutrition’s increased resistance of infection and increased their survival chances of those who became infected.
