Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, to an African-American working-class family. His father, Joseph Jackson, had been a guitarist but had put aside his musical aspirations to provide for his family. Believing his sons had talent, he formed a musical group in the early 1960s. At first, the Jackson Family performers consisted of Michael's older brothers Tito, Jermaine, and Jackie. Michael joined his siblings when he was five, and became the group's lead vocalist. He showed a lot of passion and commitment for such a young performer, impressing audiences with his ability to convey mixed emotions through his music. Older brother Marlon also became a member of the group, which evolved into the Jackson 5.
Behind the scenes, Joseph Jackson pushed his sons to succeed. He was also reportedly known to become violent with them. He used to call Michael names and mock him about his big nose which lowered his self-esteem and confidence. Michael and his brothers spent endless hours rehearsing and polishing up their act. Michael and his brothers relocated to Los Angeles bearing in mind the guys were still quite young this was a big change and would have affected their social life as they would be living all the childhood friends behind and begin to build a new life.
At the age of 13, Jackson launched a solo career in addition to his work with the Jackson 5. He made the charts in 1971 with "Got to Be There" from the album of the same name. The song became Jackson's first solo No. 1 single. This shows Michael was a natural full of talent he was clearly the strongest singer out of his brothers and his talent was noticed as he pushed to work hard and make himself known.
I think Michael's talents are God given and he had the great opportunity to display them at such young age thanks to his parent’s interest in it, but even if his parents (aka Joe) wouldn't have pushed him like they did he still would have made it sooner or later. I don't think that a person with that talent can go unnoticed, when addressing has talent like Michael has, it exudes from them, it's apparent to anyone who comes in contact with them, that's why I doubt that there may be people as talented as he is that weren't 'discovered' so to speak. Michael has most definitely had an advantage over other "talented" people, in his life.
Firstly, let's take the era he grew up in the 1960s. This was an era where performers were performers. They took their craft seriously. There was no Meek Millz, there was no Beyonce). Only James Browns, Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklins, The Supremes, Stevie Wonders, and many more talented artists. Secondly, look at who Michael was so fortunate to grow up with. Look at the people that surrounded him in his life in his younger year’s people such as Diana Ross, Quincie Jones and Berry Gordy. He learned how to sing, dance, and compose songs from such talented people as these. He was surrounded by many very talented people who had honed their craft, and he took so many elements from other people and put them all together to make his own.
His father pushed him and his brothers to a breaking point but in the end, it benefited him/them. His father definitely plays a role in the development of his talent. He pushed Michael
