Assignment 2
Purpose of this assignment is to produce written evidence where students identify and outline the policies and procedures that are related to health, safety and security. Students will link this underpinning knowledge in relation to a health and social care scenario below.
Scenario
As part of your continuing development, your supervisor has asked you to check policies and procedures relating to health, safety and security to see how they link to legislation and guidelines.
Task 2a: Written report
Produce a report. In your report: Outline how policies and procedures (service delivery in a health or social care setting) reflect the requirements of legislation and guidelines relating to health, safety and security (P2).
You should, wherever possible, base this task on the health or social care setting where you have done your work experience placement.
It would be a good idea to get a copy of the setting’s written policies and procedures for health and safety, confidentiality and safeguarding if possible.
You will need to think about the consequences of breaking the law to ensure that staff member work safely.
Task 2b: written report
Describe how the health and safety legislation, policies and procedures promote the safety of individuals in the same health or social care setting (M1). Your description should include consideration of minimising risks for both service-users and other individuals such as workers, family, etc.
