1. The types of individuals that need to be recruited are both are some with a degree and some without. In terms with person/job fit if the job was to be in the offices for tanglewoord. They would need at least 2 years minimum of experience, they will consult and collaborate with business leaders, HR business partners and develop solutions in order to accomplish business results. This person will also provide individual or team based assessments and coaching, and conduct learning around change leadership. They need to have KSAOs as well as be organized. In terms with person/organization fit for regular store employees their qualifications are much more different. They have to have at least their high diploma or GED. Have a minimum 6+months experience in retail stores. They need to have KSAOs as well as be organized. Setting up goals for speed when it is time to fill position. This is where the recruiting methods take place and how quickly the position could be filled. Picking a time frame would mean how long the position could or should be open for. 4 weeks to me would enough time for a potential employee to respond.
2.Tanglewood targets potential employees by checking if they meet the organization’s needs. Media- is an “open” target because by as the internet, TV, banners, ads can target all types of people. Especially those that are looking for that first time job. The media is also the easiest way to apply for a job without having to set foot inside the store itself. It gives you the privacy of doing the application with no rush. Referrals- are good way to get employees this type of method is “targeted”, because it goes towards the employees who are already working there. Employees give referrals on friends and family who sometimes are not qualified for the job. This type of method also a lot of favoritism toward a work place.
Kiosk- is a better way to get potential employees. This way they don’t have to leave there house they can do everything over the internet. They can fill out the job application without leaving home. This method “open” because everybody could fill out a job application.
Job services- this one is “targeted” for unemployed individuals. This method also screens individuals that have qualifications that meet the jobs needs.
Agency- this method is “open” to everyone who wants and needs a job. They get placed in a job site temporary with will to hire them as permanent employees.
3. The Western Region of Washington is the only region that uses all four methods of recruiting. It is also the only one that uses job services. They have the highest cost for using the kiosk recruiting method then the other way to recruit. Referrals, kiosk, and job services have a higher applicant rate. Whereas media is far more lower than the other three. Two hiring practices in this region also have higher retention rate and also lower cost of recruiting.
The Eastern Washington Region is using only three methods of recruiting. The methods include the media, referrals and kiosk. Looking at the chart given to me it shows that by using the media and kiosk recruiting methods they have a lower cost for retention. With using the referral method it is higher cost and higher retention rate.
