1.1 Background of Study
Tajweed is an Arabic word meaning correct pronunciation during reciting Quran. It is a set of rules which is used to lead in reciting the Quran correctly (Saany, S. I. A., M. Nordin, A. Rahman, N. A. Rawi and A. I. Yusof ,2013). Tajweed by definition is bettering, improving, and becoming excellent while functionally, it means articulating every letter in the Quran in its correct timing and from its proper point of articulation (A.Harrag & T.Mohamadi, 2010). According to Sommer (2014), chalk and talk method cannot stimulate the student’s interests in learning and many of them leaving the school without knowledge and skills which may help them aspire and planning their future.
The traditional method that only stand and deliver the information is being demonstrated as less efficient and effective on the student learning process (Bajak, 2014). This problem will make the student not interested to the lesson and not give a fully attention to the lecture given.
