Sun and Fun Waterpark Assignment
1) The company Sun and Fun Park has been run successfully over the past 30 years and has held a high reputation among its locals. Tammy Yasky has built this company from the ground up and has put everything that she has had to contribute to the success of this company. The company’s current situation involves some obstacles to avoid but holds great potential for greater success. The company in general has had great success throughout their waterpark and their employees, attracting their customers. What they haven’t had as great success on over recently history id there outdated mini golf course and their inability to draw new customers through advertising. Threats to this company comes from expansion of the waterpark industry including a new company potentially moving to London. Though Tammy has toyed with the notion of selling the company, the opportunity that the park still has is a great reason of why she shouldn’t. The expansion of a food stand in the company is new area of service that can bring in great profit to the park. A possibility of a brand new mini golf course can also draw more attention and new customers to the park. In order to better advertise these expansions and modifications, advertisements through radio, coupons and billboards can be used to promote. The company, already well established, holds great opportunity and potential to improve on its weaknesses to acquire a maximum profit. The company has not been losing much profit but the areas of the park that have been making steady profit are able to improve.
2) Our company’s Innovative mission statement is that Sun and Fun Park will provide a quality food service to our customers as a compliment to a high standard quality of park service.
3) The corporate culture at sun and fun water park is very strict but it’s also rewarding and creative. It’s strict in the sense that Tammy rigorously checks people who are being interviewed and she is very selective in making her decision. It’s rewarding to loyal employee’s also as they are open for a raise if they do a good job and return to work. It’s creative in the sense that Tammy lets her employees brainstorm and come up with new innovative ideas to help the company such as the employee thinking of the idea for the waterpark.
Advantages
-New ideas created by employees for the company to improve it
-Strict hiring process gives only the best employees
-Four assistant managers help overlook each section of the park
Disadvantages
-Running the company this way involves a lot of hard work, effort, and hours
-Not many employees will be good enough for the strict hiring process so finding employees may be tough
4) SWOT Analysis
Strengths
Waterpark is doing very well
Strict hiring guidelines bring in only the best employees
Returning employees because of the advantages the park gives (ex. Raises)
Location of Sun and Fun brings in customers from St Thomas and London and surrounding towns
Weaknesses
Mini-Golf Course is not updated
Not as much advertising as there could be
No food available for their customers is not convenient
Not very flashy park (Same look for a long period of time)
Not enough profits being brought in from Go-Karts
Opportunity
There is a growing waterpark industry in Canada
Expansion to include food stands

Threats
Growing waterpark industry allows competition to move up
Tammy getting older and is entertaining the idea of selling the park

-Expansion of the company’s services (selling food) to help make the park better-rounded
