1.2
Summarise key aspects of legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice relating to own role and responsibilities.

Teachers always have to protect themselves and the best way to do it is to follow the rules of the code of practice. Being a teacher makes me automatically an example for my students therefore I must not discriminate, abuse (physically or verbally), dress inappropriate, and be late or messy.

The Code of Professional Practice comes in support of all teachers as guidance to how to be a good teacher. In a continually changing society the profession of teaching is becoming more intricate and vital. In order to keep up with the changes, I need to ensure that I meet the highest possible standards. Following this, I must be dedicated to my own professional learning, seeking to expand my skills and to deepen my knowledge as a teacher. Now I’m going to say a few words about some of the most important legislations that comply with in order to become a good teacher.

Confidentiality and Data protection Act (1998) are very important legislations for a teacher. Learners expect us to respect and protect confidentiality. This duty extends to any information relating to a learner which we acquire in the course of our work. Confidential information includes personal details. “Confidentiality can be defined as when one person receives personal or sensitive information from another person, then that person who receives the information has a duty not to pass it on to any other person without the consent of the person who confided in them.” As a professional teacher, I won’t share any information regarding my students unless the situation requires it. I’ll do my best to keep safe the information they are sharing with me and to gain their trust, if they will trust me then they’ll feel safe in my classroom.

1.3 Explain ways to promote equality and value diversity

I will be looking to teach Door Supervisor courses once qualifying with the relevant qualifications.
Inclusion, equality and diversity can be promoted by identifying the boundaries and barriers of students, which should be supervised till the end of the course. This will also benefit the learning experience as a group and help overcome the boundaries thus giving an identity to every learner. Each learner is different due to their previous experiences, and so teaching has to be designed to meet individual learner’s needs, where different strategies have to be used to promote inclusive learning. All the factors like gender, race, age, religion and other social needs have to be taken into account to promote diversity. All learners should be given equal rights to participate in all activities of learning regardless of age, sex, religion and race.

Should any students have any special dietary requirements for religious or health reasons I will respect this and if possible guide them to an appropriate food outlet where they can obtain such food.
If students need time to offer prayers etc I will respect this fact.

Inclusion:
Inclusion is about creating a secure, accepting and motivating environment, where every student is valued thereby creating a foundation for good achievement for all students.
A teacher has to identify the various needs of learners, through assessments and monitor their performance throughout the course. Additional time has to be taken to teach new concept in several ways, allowing greater understanding. Teacher should be committed to educate each child to the maximum extent. Students with special educational needs should be provided support services in the same class as the other students rather than isolating them from normal students. All students regardless of physical and special needs will be in regular classroom where different teaching styles are practised to include every student, for example body language, facial expression, large fonts, Braille documents.
Equality:
Equality is making
