From the time that I established my goal to attend college, I had always planned and hoped that my education would take me places far, far away from where I began. Throughout my life I learned that education, in fact, is my outlet to discovering the world around me and appreciating the differences between cultures. It’s fair to say that my interest in studying abroad came from my life filled with going to different towns and cities in California during school fieldtrips. I was excited for every fieldtrip because I was given the opportunity to meet and mingle with students that read different books, had different teachers, and had different beliefs. Learning management concepts abroad means that I will be able to talk with my new professor about which management ideas or methods he or she favors in the workplace. Here at Manhattanville I appreciate the fact that my management professors all have original ideas that work for their environment, because from them I learn a variety of ways to manage, control, lead, and report. Learning a multitude of managing methods will make me more creative and confident when managing employees.
