Set up and operate the equipment required for a recording session using appropriate cables, with adherence to health & safety guidelines and dealing with any technical issues that occur
Capture audio sources using multi-track recording techniques on Logic Pro
This task requires you to submit a studio diary/log and photographic evidence of microphone setups and equipment setups.

Working as a studio engineer, demonstrate how to setup and operate a range of audio recording equipment safely. You are required to address the following when setting up and operating equipment;

Microphones and Microphone Placement
DI box
Routing
Patchbays
Mixing Desk
Inputs/Outputs
Input Gain/Recording Level
Busses and Groups
Talkback/Foldback

You must demonstrate that you can set up and operate the equipment highlighted on the list above making sure that microphone placement has been considered and all equipment is in fully working order ready for recording.

To achieve a pass for Task 1, you will successfully setup and configure microphones and recording equipment for a multi-track recording session with some tutor support. The setup must be relevant to the audio sources you will be recording and you must demonstrate that the system is fully operational

To achieve a merit for Task 1, you will do the above confidently and with total independence.

To achieve a distinction for Task 1, you will do all of the above but you will also show through your studio diary/log, a clear understanding of all of the processes involved. You
