Compare and contrast of modern day warriors and ancient warriors

The eagle born to those who pledged their lives and sacred honor was smiled upon by God and freed from chains and iron collar. He is held aloft on unity and by history revered; for preserving peace through strength his wings now reach across two hundred years. But for each of those and one year more, God has smiled upon The Corps, from the Barbary Coast to the Eastern Sand, by sword, by gun, or by bare hand. So it's been, and shall be weighed: though many are born, few are "made". Faithful Always, they shall remain dogs to loose when war is waged.

Technology advances the meanings of life and changes the old, but the thoughts of modern warriors and ancient Spartans still remain the same. The similarities of both warriors consist of God, Country, and organization. Now the differences bring you into the ties of technology, lifestyle, and training. Both forces share some of the same political, social, and economical life styles, and have their differences as well. This paper will focus on the similarities and differences of the warriors’ traditions of honor, courage, and commitment and how Spartan warriors carried their legacy versus the modern warriors today known as United States Marines.
Honor is the character within Marines, and they are developed to never lie, cheat, or steal. It is the ethical and moral behavior to follow the code of integrity to respect human dignity, and have concern for each other. It’s examples of maturity, dedication, trust, and dependability for showing influential characteristics. Honor is being responsible for your actions, dependability for the mission, and holding others accountable for their actions. Marines are held to a higher standard for honor to their God, Country, and Corps. Both warriors have fought in battles with friends beside them and developed a bond of brotherhood well known today as Honor.
Honor of the brotherhood consisted of willing to end in self-sacrifice to keep one another alive, defend your warriors with all your heart, and without a doubt serve beside them. Spartans followed a strict Code of honor with no superiority more than the other. Actions of raged bravery and suicidal recklessness were prohibited as these behaviors would cause chaos in the formation leading to dishonor. Spartans who fought wishing to live were honored more than those who don't care if they died. By the way of Spartans, they must walk with silence, and speak only few words. Other ways for Spartans to be dishonored were dropping their shield and deserting, during the time of battle. Dishonored Spartans were forced to wear humiliating clothing, and were considered as outcasts.
Courageousness is the signs from the heart of being morally, mentally, and physically strengthened through all challenges of combat and fearlessness. Integrity of doing what is right, and setting the standards of personal conduct. Courage is the inner strength that enables a Marine to pursue as a leader, and prove his courage to make decisions in time of extreme stress. History tells us that young men were raised for the military, breed to be Spartans their lives were devoted to Sparta, and its intense physical training. People today think of Marines as rough and tough warriors only because of the harsh and intense basic training which produces the finest warriors of our day. The Spartan’s training and organization of military tactics is like the Marines used today but amplified thousands of times more, due to the advancements of technology.
Commitment is the determination and dedication that a warrior brings, when the essence of war is raged. It is the mastery and professionalism of the art of war, and the dedication to God,
